Mother's Day Printable's and Card

Mother's day is such a special celebration for me as it is the only 'holiday' every year that the whole family spends together. Me and my sister, our mom, my husband’s parents and my brother-in-law's parents, and all the other siblings and grandchildren in between.  

We love spending time outdoors, so we always have a picnic-type lunch, usually at the Botanical Gardens, and then we do a big harvest table with lots of bread, cheese, fruit and charcuterie.

We bring enough blankets and cushions so that after lunch we can take the obligatory Sunday afternoon nap and others sit around reading.  After nap time it is time for coffee (which we bring in flasks) and dessert.  A slow day with our nearest and dearest and I love it!

To add a bit of whimsy to your Mother's Day - we have these lovely paper placemats and name cards for you to download and print if you are having a more traditional lunch at the table or in a restaurant.  The placemats have two beautiful quotes, available in Afrikaans and English.

My sister and I decide beforehand what all the Mother's will be treated with, usually a plant, a treatment and a hand-written card.  This year I will definitely be using these pretty cards designed by I Love Design Love.  The cards are available to download in Afrikaans and English.
