Ice-Cream Parlor Party

I think it might be something in the water - or maybe creative souls attract creative souls, because today I am sharing the party of a friend of Mom Lisa from the Magical Unicorn Party, Nicole, who created the cutest ice-cream themed party for her Annabel's 3rd birthday celebration. Soon I will be featuring another one of their friends' party  - just as stunning!

From Mom Nicole:

An Ice Cream Parlour theme for my daughter Annabel’s 3rd birthday party, was an easy choice as she loves Ice cream, and has a sweet tooth just like her mommy:) I love birthdays and thoroughly enjoy putting together a special & memorable celebration for our special poppet.  While I’m still able to have a say in the party theme I obviously like to go with something that Annabel will love, something that is a little different and at the same time allows room for creativity, fun, interesting decor & other elements that make it an extra special day. I loved working with the beautiful soft pastel colour palette that this theme lends itself.

The original vision for this special day was to have it all setup out in the garden but unfortunately the weather played a bit of havoc and so I had to adjust my original plans and have it all inside. We are very lucky that the kids got a chance to play outside a little in between rain showers.

A broad pink & white striped fabric with 'Annabels Ice Cream Parlour' signage was the perfect backdrop for the food buffet where the gorgeous 2 tiered birthday cake took centre stage. There were an array of cookies, buttercream cupcakes in ice cream cones, Marshmallow ice creams, sprinkle biscuits, Marshmallow lollies and lots more, all sourced and made to suit the ice cream theme.

I arranged the kiddies tables & chairs in a long row in the middle of the room, decorated with lace runners, potted spring flowers & mini orchids, ice cream shaped biscuits, marshmallows and flings.

For a bit of entertainment I hired stand alone carousel horse rides for the kids, which was a great hit as well as  face painting and an entertainer that had many fun activities such as pin the cherry on the ice cream, a puppet show and many other fun games based on the theme.

All decor & pretties aside, the true measure of this special day being a success were the smiles and laughter that surrounded us and  our precious birthday girl glowing with joy.
