Blossoms & Bubbles

Ludwig Rose's 45th Spring Festival In celebration with JC Le Roux

Last week I attended the opening of Ludwig's Roses 45th Spring Festival, which runs till Sunday, 9 October. All around happiness as we were treated to lots of bubbles, yummy treats and beautiful blooms - how much better can a Thursday morning get for a girl?  This year was extra special as the opening of the Spring Festival was paired with the unveiling of The "La Fleurette" rose, named after a JC Le Roux 'Vivante'variety.  This is the first time in the world that a rose was created and named after a sparkling wine - and seeing the rose next to the salmon pink foam of the bubbly I can tell you it is a perfect match!

THE OCCASION

'The 'La FLEURETTE' rose is being named as a tribute to celebrate and honour the artistry of South Africa's leading name in sparkling wines and MCC - The House of JC Le Roux. And it is also fitting that the rose was created by Mr. Ludwig himself, who founded Ludwig Rose's in 1971 and now grow the largest selection of rose varieties available anywhere in the world. Such a proudly South African moment!

After the official opening and ribbon cutting, we entered The Rose Shed which was turned into a wonder world of Pink, Blossoms and Balloons.  It was done beautifully with so much attention to detail, I cannot even begin to describe it, but I took many pictures and hopefully it will give you lots of inspiration and ideas for your next event.

My favorite details? The floral swing and chair!

THE VENUES

Ludwig Rose's has two lovely venues - The Rose Shed (for larger celebrations) and The Rose Kitchen (for smaller celebrations) both nestled in between rows upon rows upon rows of beautiful rose plants - I think The Rose Kitchen is the perfect venue for a special girly celebration and with the beautiful surroundings you can really get away with minimum decor. The food is also truly yummy!

PAIRING AND TASTING

After a few words from Mr. Ludwig himself we were spoiled with a delectable JC Le Roux pairing and tasting that will be available at Ludwig Rose's this weekend - Saturday and Sunday, 8 & 9 October.  Bookings not necessary, you can book when you get to the farm.

Be prepared for a taste explosion, I am already planning my Sunday to fit in another one of these.  It is not everyday that JC  le Roux is on your doorstep surrounded by luscious spring blooms.
